Our Story

Fikani and Alexa’s romance started 3 seasons ago when Fikani realised that he was in love with Alexa after years of working alongside one another in the Hillside Clinic. 

Fikani first revealed his feelings for Alexa to Marko, who spurred him on to take a chance by telling her. 

Fikani wasn’t sure that Alexa felt the same way and that’s when he enlisted Matron’s help to win Alexa’s heart. 

Unconventionally, Matron suggested that he pretends to have the interest of another woman, to gauge whether Alexa felt the same way. Fikani did just that and it made Alexa green with envy when Fikani pretended to be dating a woman called Claire (Matron in disguise).

After months of playing this game, Alexa became increasingly jealous of Claire and Fikani. And one day she just had it! She took the liberty of telling Claire to leave Fikani alone because he had a girlfriend, naturally, this took Fikani by surprise and at that moment, Alexa kissed Fikani which he passionately reciprocated and this solidified the start of their relationship.

It wasn’t rose petals and romantic walks in the park, the couple has had their fair share of troubles to overcome. Alexa struggled with Bulimia, Fikani was shot, his past came to the fore in which Fikani discovered Matron’s connection to his mom while she died and Alexa came face to face with her rapist.

The true test came when Alexa went away to do missionary work which put a strain on their relationship as distance has a way of creating a wedge.

Lesedi, who developed feelings for Fikani while Alexa was away also posed a danger to the couple’s relationship- but Fikani and Alexa knew that they had a love that transcended all obstacles. 

Fikani decided to propose to Alexa upon her return back to Hillside which she heartily accepted and as they say- “the rest is history”

Now Fikani and Alexa look toward a future in which they become Dr. Fikani and Alexa Chauke.
